Acupuncture
Acupuncture aims to treat the whole person, rather than specific symptoms in isolation, it can be effective for a range of conditions.
Acupuncture is a healing practice rooted in traditional Chinese philosophy, which views good health as more than just the absence of disease or pain. It is believed that health depends on the smooth, balanced flow of vital energy, or "qi" (pronounced "chee"), through channels called meridians beneath the skin. Emotional stress, poor nutrition, trauma, and other factors can disrupt this energy flow, leading to illness. Acupuncture works to restore balance by stimulating the body's natural healing processes. Practitioners diagnose patterns of imbalance from a variety of symptoms and choose specific acupuncture points to treat the individual effectively.
